BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 10. Türkiye's Kocaeli port accepted 68,881,327 tons of cargo from January through December 2023, Trend reports, referring to Türkiye's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
According to the ministry, vessels under the flag of Türkiye handled 5,207,437 tons of cargo at Kocaeli port, while vessels under the flags of other countries handled 63,673,890 tons of cargo.
"From January through December 2023, a total of 1,113,281 tons of transit cargo were also handled," the ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Türkiye's ports handled 391,717,308 tons of cargo from January through December 2023.
Acceptance of cargo by vessels under the Türkiye's flag amounted to 29,299,350 tons from January through December 2023. And by vessels under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 362,417,958 tons.
The information says that transit cargoes of 66,735,403 tons were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through December 2023.
Türkiye's ports received 36,375,497 tons of cargo in December 2023.
During this period, the cargo reception to domestic ports by vessels under Türkiye's flag amounted to 2,739,933 tons.
"Cargo shipments of vessels under the flags of other countries to Türkiye's ports amounted to 33,635,564 tons," the ministry reports in a statement.
In addition, a total of 5,238,880 tons of transit cargoes were transported from Türkiye's ports in December 2023.
Türkiye's ports received 60,195 vessels from January through December 2023.
According to the information, during this period Türkiye's ports accepted 40,918 vessels under the flags of other countries and 19,277 vessels under the flag of Türkiye.
Türkiye's ports accepted 4,697 vessels last December.
Information shows that during this period the number of vessels accepted in Türkiye's ports under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,190 and under the flag of Türkiye - 1,507.
