BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 2. Türkiye's exports to member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) decreased by 3 percent in September 2024 compared to the same month in 2023 and amounted to $6.8 billion.
Data obtained by Trend from Türkiye's Trade Ministry shows that the country's exports to OIC member countries totaled $50.7 billion from January through September this year, up 9.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
"Türkiye's imports from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation decreased by 12.1 percent in September this year compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to $3.5 billion," the ministry statement said.
Additionally, it was noted that Türkiye's imports from OIC member countries fell 8.7 percent year-on-year to $30.7 billion from January through September 2024.
Besides, Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $49.1 billion in September 2024.
The ministry noted that Türkiye's exports totaled $21.9 billion in September 2024, which is 1.9 percent less than the same month in 2023, while imports totaled $27.1 billion, down 1.4 percent.
"Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $443.9 billion from January through September this year," the ministry statement read.
However, the ministry added that Türkiye's exports rose 2.6 percent to $191.7 billion from January through September 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, while imports fell 8.1 percent to $252.1 billion.
To note, Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $617.5 billion last year.
Türkiye's exports totaled $255.7 billion in 2023, up 0.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, while imports decreased 0.5 percent to $361.7 billion.
