A total of 2889 new enterprises were registered in Azerbaijan in the first half of 2005. The government explained it with the successful implementation of the State Program on socio-economic development of region.
The figure turned out 13.4% more than 2004. 1098 of the enterprises are involved in wholesale and retail trade, repair of vehicles, home appliances and personal things, 424 вЂ" in the sphere of construction. In this period 271 enterprises were established in the sphere of agriculture, hunting and forestry, 250 вЂ" operations with property, rent and consumer services, 220 вЂ" communal services, social and private services, 217 вЂ" refining industry.
114 of all enterprises registered in this period are state property facilities, 2539 вЂ" private property, 64 вЂ" municipal property, 137 вЂ" 100% with foreign capital.
58.3% of new enterprises function in Baku, 10.6% in Aran, 5% in Nakhchivan, 4.9% - in Lenkoran, 5.5% - in Absheron, 4.2% - in Ganja вЂ" Gazakh, 3.7% - in Shaki вЂ" Zakatala economic regions.
