Azneft Production Union of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR plans to conduct 2D seismic survey at the Sangachal-Duvanni-Khara-Zira block of fields by late 2017, Azneft Director General Dashgin Iskenderov told the Caspian Energy journal.
Azneft extensively conducts seismic surveys, as well as engineering and geological work, according to him.
Iskenderov said currently, residual oil and gas reserves are being studied at the fields and new areas are being explored for the purpose of involving them in drilling.
“Seismic exploration was already started in 2016 at the Baku Archipelago in the water area and it will be completed at the Bulla Deniz section,” Iskenderov said.
He noted that Azneft plans to conduct geological and geophysical research in 2017.
Azneft Production Union is an oil and gas producing enterprise of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR. The enterprise is conducting operation at 13 offshore and 14 onshore oil and gas fields.
