Kazakhstan entered the first tranche of $ 30 million in a joint investment fund with Kyrgyzstan. This was announced on Thursday at the Bishkek official presentation of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Investment Fund (KKIF).
The capital stock of the Investment Fund is 100 million U.S. dollars, which will be fully capitalized by Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.
As Ambassador of Kazakhstan Beybit Isabaev said in his speech, that the idea of the Foundation to assist the economic development of Kyrgyzstan belongs to the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has been offered in 2007, but, due to objective circumstances, the parties began to practical realization of this project only in 2011.
The head of the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan emphasized that funds KKIF not intended to "fill the gap" in the state budget of Kyrgyzstan, and will be directed at a specific forward-profitable projects in the country.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Beybit Isabaev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Antimonopoly Policy of Kyrgyzstan Sanjar Mukanbetov, Chairman of the Board of "Kazyna Capital Management" Borisbiy Zhangurazov, representatives of business circles of both countries.
