SOCAR's Azerigaz production association inspects private houses in Zagatala region after the earthquake, which occurred in Azerbaijani north-western region yesterday, the association said on Tuesday.

According to the information, gas supply to Gakh and Zagatala regions was suspended to ensure the safety from 23:00 on May 7. Despite nobody was injured and emergency situations did not take place as a result of the earthquake, a decision was made to suspend the gas supply to these regions taking into account the continuing tremors.

The gas supply in 4-5-storey houses located in the center of Zagatala region and Gakh region has not been restored on May 8.

"Other private houses are being checked," the report says.
The earthquake occurred on Monday at 09:40 local time 17 km southwest of Zagatala.

Earthquake measuring 7 on Richter scale was felt in Zagatala and Gakh, and measuring 2-5 - in other areas.

Nobody was injured.

Zagatala region is located in the north-west of Azerbaijan in 372 kilometers from Baku.
