A strong earthquake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale jolted surrounding area of Qasr-e-Shirin in western province of Kermanshah on Sunday evening, IRNA reported.

According to the report of seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 21:35 hours local time (18:05 hours GMT) and its epicenter was at 34.29 degrees latitude and 45.67 degrees longitude.

There is no immediate report on possible casualties or damage.
