Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has warned about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip amid Israel's strikes against the blockaded coastal sliver, Press TV reported on July 11.

"The continuation of the cruel siege of Gaza and the dire lack of medical supplies [in the area] are worrying and could lead to a major humanitarian catastrophe," the Iranian president said in a message to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Thursday.

He called on Muslim nations and the international community to take action and put an immediate end to the all-out Israeli offensive against the besieged Gaza Strip.

"Helping the oppressed Palestinian people and preventing the aggressive acts of the Zionist regime are the shared responsibility of all international institutions and the world's freedom-seeking countries," Rouhani added.

The Iranian president also called for an immediate lifting of Israel's siege on the populated coastal enclave.
