Former member of the board of directors of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce Hamid Hosseini has said that a delegation of Iranian businessmen has been two weeks in the US.
He said that the delegation, consisting of entrepreneurs, tradesmen, and artists, will return to Iran next week, the Mehr news agency reported May 10.
They have been visiting cultural institutes, universities, and trade organizations to hold talks and undo the misrepresentations of Iran in the US in order to create a friendlier atmosphere toward Iran in the target society, he explained.
Hosseini said that the delegation is in no way political.
The visit comes in line with mutual measures by Iran and the US to prepare the ground for intimate cooperation as the frigid atmosphere between the two countries is thawing.
The two countries are anticipating boost in relations after decades of standstill as the two are approaching an agreement.
The comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear program, as it is called, will remove sanctions on Iran's economy and open the way for Iran to do business with the world. The agreement is slated to be struck by June 30.
