By Khalid Kazimov -- Trend:

During the past two years, a daily average of 10.2 million liters of mazut was bunkered to ships at sea by Iran.

During the previous Iranian fiscal year (which ended March 20), 10.3 million liters of mazut was bunkered every day, a report by the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said September 1.

During the president Hassan Rouhani's administration, the number has increased by 8 percent compared to the previous administration.

Also, during the last five months of the previous administration (ended by Aug. 2013) a daily average of 540,000 liters of gas oil was distributed, which reached 840,000 in the second half of the previous Iranian year.

Furthermore, 3.52 million liters of mazut was exported in the current Iranian fiscal year, indicating a huge rise.

The Iranian Oil Ministry has started replacing natural gas for mazut in power plants and many major industrial units, which counts for the rise in the export of mazut.

Iran is rich in gas reserves and is trying to replace the fuel with liquid fuels as much as possible.
