Iran will spare no effort to supply arms to the West Bank in Palestine, the Islamic Republic's defense minister, Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan said.

Iran will use all possible capacities to provide the Palestinians with arms in the West Bank, Dehghan said, Iranian ISNA news agency reported Jan. 27.

He made the remarks in a ceremony to honor Lebanese Hezbollah group's killed fighters at the representative office of the group in Tehran.

Israel makes all efforts to destroy Hezbollah, but it has achieved no result despite all efforts and plots, the Iranian minister said.

A senior general of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Mohammad Ali Allahdadi was killed in Syria on Jan. 18 as a result of an Israeli helicopter strike.

The strike took place in the Syrian sector of the Golan Heights, close to the ceasefire line separating the Israeli and Syrian sectors. Five Hezbollah fighters including the son of the group's slain military commander, Imad Mughniyeh were also killed in the attack.

Iranian officials have on numerous occasions stated that the Islamic Republic will send military aid to the West Bank.

Last July Iran 's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that the only solution for the region is the destruction of Israel, and that the armed confrontation must expand beyond Gaza.

"We believe that the West Bank should also be armed like Gaza and those who are interested in Palestine 's destiny should act in this regard," Khamenei said.
