Kyrgyz journalist Baktybek Amanbayev was elected to the post of the country's ombudsman, KyrTAG reported on Thursday.
He was supported by 52 positive votes of country's deputies, while 48 of the total deputy number voted against his candidacy.
The second candidate Asiya Sasikbayeva collected 45 votes for and 55 against her candidacy.
Previously, Tursunbek Akun was holding the post of ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan.
