The Caspian littoral countries (Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia) will establish the Caspian Floating University, Iranian Gilan Provincial University International Affairs Department head Mansour Afshar Mohammadian was quoted by the Iranian news agency ISNA as saying.
Mohammadian said that the Caspian Floating University will give impetus to the relations between the littoral countries in the field of scientific and practical and student exchange.
"The establishment of the University will be discussed and launched at a meeting of state research institutions and universities of the Caspian countries to be held in Baku," Mohammadian said.
He said that the decision was taken at a meeting in Astrakhan.
"The purpose of establishing is to create conditions for getting education in biotechnology, agriculture, mechanics, textiles, gardening, law, mathematics and economics in the littoral countries," Mohammadian said.
He said that if the level of teaching in these and other subjects is high in any of the five countries, students from other countries will be eligible to study in this country.
Mohammadian hopes that the university will begin its work next year.
Mohammadian said that the cost of training in the Caspian Floating University will be low.
