Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 19 / Trend/

The medical examination of one of Iran's Green Movement leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi confirmed that he is healthy, the Iranian opposition website Kaleme reported.

Earlier, the Iranian security forces' officers escorted Mousavi to the hospital for examination, which served as the basis for the rumors about the deterioration of his health condition, caused by a sharp weight loss, the source reported.

Rumors about Mousavi's illness do not correspond to reality. He feels good and continues to observe fasting in Ramadan.

Previously, the Srat News website spread information about Mousavi's health state and doctors' visit to his house last week.

Mousavi's Chief Adviser Ardshir Amiraldzhumand also denied information about Mousavi's illness.

Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi were arrested after sending a letter to the Interior Ministry on Feb. 7 asking that they and their supporters be granted permission to hold a rally on Imam Hossein and Azadi squares in support of the Egyptian and Tunisian peoples on Feb.14.

The Iranian police surrounded Mousavi's house and blocked all telephone lines to prevent him from participating in the rally.

Earlier this week, representatives of the opposition Green Movement launched a campaign to collect signatures in support of the release of their leader.
