At least nine people were killed late Monday when a suicide bomber blew up his car in Iraq's northern city of Mosul, the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) reported.
Five soldiers were among the dead and 18 others were wounded in the blast, DPA reported.
The blast is the latest in a wave of unrest that coincided with rallies in mainly Sunni areas calling for the ouster of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, a Shiite Muslim.
