Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2011 "will present a duo Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal.
77 members, who were divided into 7 subgroups, ie to 11 participants each participated in a three-month long music marathon of the Eurovision 2011 national selection. Ten contestants qualified to the semifinals , five of which past into the final - Nigar Jamal, Aynishan Guliyev, Ilgar Ibragimova, Eldar Gasimov and Ilham Gasimov. Sms-voting and jury were to choose a winner.
Ismail Omarov, jury`s president, said that this year's national final took place at a very high level, the participants were very strong, but the jury tried to select the most deserving: "That was difficult, but a perfect choice" - said.
