Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 14 / Trend E. Tariverdiyeva /

About 7,000 Georgian citizens living and working in Azerbaijan will participate in parliamentary elections in Georgia on October 1. They will be able to vote at the constituency in the Georgian embassy in Baku, the diplomatic mission told Trend today.

"The constituency will open at 8 a.m. on October 1," the embassy reported.

The registration of Georgian citizens living and working abroad has been completed for their participation in the parliamentary elections. The data were sent to the state commission clarifying the voters' lists. Afterwards, they will be submitted to the Central Election Committee.
Around 45 constituencies will be opened abroad. The constituencies were annulled due to the small number of voters in Iran and Jordan.

Only 42,600 Georgian people registered by the consular department are entitled to vote. The voters registered during the last days will be added to the list.

More than 1 million people have recently left Georgia, most of them reside in foreign countries as illegal migrants. Moreover, the Georgian citizens living in Russia will not be able to vote due to the lack of constituencies. They are not opened due to lack of diplomatic relations between the countries. According to the various sources, around 500,000-700,000 Georgian citizens live in Russia
