Bakcell, the first mobile operator and leading mobile internet provider of Azerbaijan, organized training for journalists devoted to the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) on December 1.
About 30 journalists form national TV channels, newspapers and news agencies as well as bloggers attended the training.
The training was one of the components of the MNP awareness campaign among journalists reporting on telecommunication issues and among customers.
Presentations on MNP and its history, its benefits for customers and mobile operators, experiences of other countries, the main reasons which make customer to join Bakcell after MNP, procedures to join MNP and etc. were made by Bakcell representatives.
"MNP, which is expected to be implemented in the near future in Azerbaijan, is very important step in the telecommunication market of Azerbaijan. Our observations show both media and mobile communication customers need more deepening information about MNP. We are pleased to organize the first educative training for journalists devoted to this process. We are planning to continue our initiatives to increase awareness about MNP. We are looking the Communication and Information Technologies Ministry to announce the starting of this process in Azerbaijan," Mr. Richard Shearer, Bakcell CEO said.
