The internationalisation of Internet governance and cyber security will be the main topics to be discussed at the eighth annual 'Internet Governance Forum' (IGF- 2013), acting Communication and IT Minister Ali Abbasov told journalists today.

According to him, Azerbaijan will be represented at the event by a broad-based delegation.

The eighth Internet Governance Forum will be held in Bali (Indonesia) on October 22-25. Last year, the seventh IGF was held in Baku, while six previous IGF meetings were held in Greece (2006), Brazil (2007), India (2008), Egypt (2009), Lithuania (2010) and Kenya (2011).

The forum will bring together more than 1500 delegates, a number of senior government officials, directors of large global organisations and representatives of the business circles and civilian society.

The meetings in Bali are to determine a common position and the role of governments and their collaboration in Internet governance, ensuring security in the virtual space and strengthening cooperation for growth and sustainable development.

According to Abbasov, cyber security issues will also be raised within the 19th International Exhibition and Conference in Baku on December 2-5.
