Another Azerbaijani operator launches mobile e-signature service

By Huseyn Valiyev - Trend: Azerbaijani mobile operator Azerfon LLC which owns the Nar Mobile trademark, will launch a mobile platform for the digital signature ASAN-imza for subscribers by late November, the company told Trend on Tuesday.

The company said it is currently its work on the integration of the ASAN-imza platform with the Azerfon platform is at the final stage.

Installation of the application and activation of a mobile digital signature will be carried out both at the Centre of Electronic Signature Certification Services at the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan and at the ASAN Service centres.

It will be required to change the Sim-card in order to use the mobile e-signature.

The operator ordered a batch of Sim-cards which will have cryptographic functions to generate keys for e-signatures.

A similar service will also be launched within the network of Bakcell Ltd. by late November and early December.

At present, out of the three mobile operators in Azerbaijan, only Azercell's subscribers have access to mobile e-signature certificates.
