The U.S. remains committed to working with partners in Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta told reporters Dec. 1.
"The U.S. is committed to working with our partners in the Heart of Asia to lay the foundation to greater stability, security and prosperity in Afghanistan and in the broader region," he said.
Ambassador Cekuta noted that the U.S. warmly welcomes the Azerbaijani government's continued role in the Heart of Asia process.
"Azerbaijani troops have served alongside the U.S. forces, alongside NATO forces in Afghanistan. We appreciate Azerbaijan's political support to Afghanistan by co-chairing the Heart of Asia process this year," added the Ambassador.
Azerbaijan has played a great role in making Afghanistan and the region safer and more peaceful, said the Ambassador, adding that Azerbaijan's contribution to ensuring peace in Afghanistan is really important.
