The Operation Committee of the First European Games (BEGOC) aims to ensure the safety and convenience in using transport during the European Games, a representative of BEGOC said May 6.
BEGOC Transport Department representative Vusal Rajabli made the remarks during the conference on becoming familiar with the road plan that will be used during the First European Games, said the message from BEGOC.
The conference was organized jointly with Baku City Executive Power, Baku Metro, Intelligent Transport Management Center and the Main State Traffic Police Department.
Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport invites the spectators of the First European Games to use public transport instead of private.
Baku Metro will operate 19 hours - from 06:00 am (UTC/GMT +5 hours) to 01:00 am.
The drivers who have tickets for the European Games will be able to leave their vehicles in two parking lots in the center of Baku by paying 1 Azerbaijani manat and go to the place of competitions by express buses.
Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
