The Greco-Roman wrestling competitions among men started in Baku as part of the first European Games June 13. Four Azerbaijani sportsmen will compete on the first day of competitions.

There will be four sets of medals in the weight categories up to 59, 71, 80 and 98 kilograms as part of the competitions.

Elman Mukhtarov (Azerbaijan) - Gizo Meladze (Georgia) will compete in the 1/8 finals in the weight category up to 59 kilograms, Rasul Chunayev (Azerbaijan) - Daniel Kataraga (Moldova) - up to 71 kilograms, Rafig Huseynov (Azerbaijan) - Michael Wagner (Austria) - up to 80 kilograms, Orkhan Nuriyev (Azerbaijan) - Theodoros Tunisidis (Sweden) - in the 1/16 final in the weight category up to 98 kilograms.

The first meeting started at 10:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

The competitions will be held at the Heydar Aliyev sports complex.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent. The games started on June 12 and will last till June 28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
