European Games organized at very high level - former EU ambassador to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan organized the first European Games at a very high level, former ambassador of the European Union to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia told Trend June 28.
"The Games are organized at a very high level," Kobia said. "I am very happy with the high attendance and enthusiasm of the fans of the competition."
He also said that if Azerbaijan wants to hold the Olympic Games, the country should be ready for competition.
"Azerbaijan has to compete with other candidates, but, I think that you have all chances to hold the Olympics," Kobia said. "I wish you success in your future activities."
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
