BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 24. Poland sees potential in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the renewable energy sector, Chief Executive Officer of Startup Hub Poland (SHP) Foundation Maciej Sadowski told Trend.

“Azerbaijan is traditionally recognized as an oil country, but right now it invests a lot in renewable energy sector. Due to the global crisis, in Poland we have very high energy costs. Therefore, I think in the next two years (2023-2024) we can manage to launch joint projects in the renewable energy field,” Sadowski said.

The Azerbaijan Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) and Startup Hub Poland Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding on December 16, 2022.

This document will contribute to the development of Polish-Azerbaijani cooperation in the field of innovation support.

Talking about Polish-Azerbaijan cooperation Sadowski noted that there is a need in talent circulations. “There are a lot of startupers coming from Azerbaijan to Poland to study our experience. Also, entrepreneurs from Poland eager to explore chances that are available in Azerbaijan,” he said.

At the same time, he emphasized importance of cooperation between the universities.

“I would suggest to launch common projects between leading universities of Azerbaijan and Poland in the field of technology,” chief executive officer said.
