BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 2. The Shah Deniz 2 project maintained its on-schedule progression toward commencing production from the East North flank in the fourth quarter of 2023, a source at bp told Trend.
According to the company, installation and testing activities for this start-up initiative continued both subsea and on the topsides modules located on the Shah Deniz Bravo platform.
"The project achieved successful completion of the East North flank commissioning vessel support tasks and is currently advancing toward the system handover phase for platform commissioning," bp said.
Meanwhile, throughout the third quarter of 2023, the Shah Deniz Alpha platform rig remained on warm stack.
"The Istiglal rig was responsible for the SDF03z well recompletion activity and initiated completion operations on the SDF05 well. In total, 21 wells have been drilled as part of the Shah Deniz 2 project. These wells encompass five on the North flank, four on the West flank, four on the East South flank, five on the West South flank, and three on the East North flank," bp added.
Shah Deniz participating interests are: bp (operator – 29.99%), SGC (21.02%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%) and NICO (10.00%).
