ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 25. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan surged by 1.8 times in the January through October 2023 period, soaring to $710.37 million, a significant increase from the previous year's $377.23 million during the same timeframe, Trend reports.
The data of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) shows that in the first ten months of this year, Turkmenistan joined the ranks of the top 15 countries in terms of trade volume with Azerbaijan.
During this period, Turkmenistan's exports to Azerbaijan reached $637.79 million, demonstrating a 1.7-fold surge compared to the same period in 2022 when exports stood at $361.65 million.
Turkmenistan's share in the total volume of Azerbaijani imports in the reporting period amounted to 4.5 percent, compared to 3.12 percent in the first ten months of last year.
Turkmenistan witnessed a 4.6-fold surge in imports from Azerbaijan from January through October 2023, reaching $72.58 million, as opposed to the $15.58 million recorded during the corresponding period in 2022.
Turkmenistan accounted for 0.25 percent of total exports from Azerbaijan, compared with 0.04 percent recorded in the first ten months of 2022.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan amounted to $535.3 million in 2022.
