BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. The trading house of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) - SOCAR Trading will hold another round of negotiations with representatives of the Republic of Congo (another name "Congo-Brazzaville") on April 4 to expand business in this African state, an informed source told Trend.

SOCAR's management also held talks with Francoise Joly, the personal representative of the President of the Republic of Congo, on strategic issues and international cooperation, in Baku on March 5 regarding the development of cooperation.

The Republic of Congo (a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, since 2018) has resources of 1.8 billion barrels of oil, and 284 bcm of gas, and monetizes them through self-sale, or trading (in particular, SOCAR Trading).

"SOCAR Trading has been conducting oil trading operations in the Republic of Congo since 2023. At present, SOCAR wants to enter the green projects of this African republic, which has plans to build solar power plants and produce green fuel products with their help," the source noted.
