Dyke in Terter River to be Strengthened

Azerbaijan, Barda / corr. Trend S.Jaliloglu / The strengthening of a dyke along the Terter River is being carried out in order to prevent danger, which may happen once the Armenians open the locks of the Terter reservoir, which are located in the territory occupied by Armenia.

According to Ilham Aslanov, the chief engineer of the Karabakh Water Construction Department, the construction of the dyke in Terter will be in stages. The length of the dyke will be 3.2km with a height of 7 metres.

Some 200 metres of the dyke was constructed in 2006, while there are plans to build the remaining180metres is 2007.

Terter is 400km from Baku.
