Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 January / Тrend corr. S. Agayeva, F. Afandiyeva / Investigations are being made as to whether Azerbaijani citizens have been buried in the ruins of the Turkish stocking factory Davutpasha Istanbul, in which an explosion occurred on 31 January.
According to Turkish media reports, 11 victims were pulled out from the ruins of the 4-storey building, and over 50 injured men were taken to hospital.
"We have been in constant touch with the local authorities but as yet we have not been informed whether there are Azerbaijani citizens in the ruins," the Azerbaijani Consul General in Istanbul Sayad Arasli said in a telephone discussion.
The cause of the explosion is currently being investigated. According to preliminary reports, the explosion occurred in the boiler-house of the factory.
