A gang of car thieves has been arrested in Baku.
A VAZ-2106 owned by Sahil settlement resident Shahin Khanjanov was stolen on the night of Sept. 30, the Baku Central Police Department told Trend today. The car was found in good condition in the Alat settlement on the same day.
As a result of operative measures carried out by the Garadagh District Police Department's Thirty-Eighth Station, previously convicted Sahil residents Kamran Piriyev and Bahruz Gorchiyev were detained on suspicion of car hijacking on Nov.2.
Gorchiyev reportedly hijacked a VAZ-2106 owned by Karim Karimov from Baligchilar Street in the Sahil settelement on the night of Nov. 9, 2009.
Police officers also detained a third suspect.
