A fire ignited in the Azerbaijani Zagatala region's forests today, the Zagatala regional office of the Environmental Protection Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told Trend.
Currently, 10-15 hectares of the state forest fund was on fire.
Employees of a regional division of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry's Department responded to the scene of the fire.
"There are difficulties in extinguishing the fire, as it covered a forest area in the hard-to-reach mountain areas," the regional office of the Ecology Ministry's Department said.
About 400 employees of the district department of the Ecology Ministry have been involved to extinguish the fire. The situation is complicated by the presence of large volume of dried out trees in the forests. The helicopters of the Emergency Situations Ministry are supposed to arrive to extinguish fires.
Over the last month forest fires already broke out in the Azerbaijani territory.
