Fire on oil pipeline extinguished in Iran

A strong fire, occurring on a pipeline owned by the National Iranian South Oil Company near the Shush Danyal town in the Khuzistan Province on Friday morning, was extinguished, Mehr news agency reported.

A strong fire, occurring on a pipeline owned by the National Iranian South Oil Company near the Shush Danyal town in the Khuzistan Province on Friday morning, was extinguished, Mehr news agency reported.

The oil pipeline, affected by the fire, transported oil extracted from the Galanar oil field in the Lorestan Province to Karun Company's oil refinery in the Ahvaz city.

A Crisis Committee was created to extinguish the fire. Firemen and operation groups are involved in extinguishing the fire at the scene.

According to preliminary data, no dead and injured are reported as a result of the fire.
The fire spread to the area with a diameter of 300 meters. The flame height in some places reached 40 meters.

The explosion occurred at 01:30 local time (GTM +4:30). The agency has not announced about explosion causes.

In late July, there was an explosion on a gas pipeline, transporting gas from Iran to Turkey. The explosion was organized by members of "PJAK" terrorist group.
