Rescuers of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry have pulled two teenagers (15 and 17-year old) alive and two dead bodies from under the rubble as a result of search and rescue operations in the Turkish city of Ercis.

Rescuers of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry have pulled two teenagers (15 and 17-year old) alive and two dead bodies from under the rubble as a result of search and rescue operations in the Turkish city of Ercis.

In total, as a result of search and rescue operations in the disaster area, Azerbaijani rescuers found 12 alive and 54 dead bodies under the rubble.

Currently, search and rescue operations are underway.

The earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale jolted Van city in Turkey at 3:41 am on Oct. 23. Tremors were felt in Diyarbekir, Batman, Sirnak, Mus, Erzurum, Bingol, Bitlis, Siirt, Mardin towns.

The number of victims of the earthquake as of Friday morning increased to 570, 2,555 people were injured.

According to the Republican Center of Seismic Service of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the earthquake was felt at 3.5-3.0 points in Sederek, Sherur, Babek regions of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as in the Nakhchivan city. There are no damages in the Azerbaijani territory.
