Four Turkish F-16 fighters recently conducted a two-hour reconnaissance flight along the border with Syria, without violating the airspace of neighbouring countries, the Turkish news agency Dogan reported.

Relations between Turkey and Syria worsened after the incident at the border on October 3, when the artillery shells were directed from the neighbouring territory towards the Turkish area of Akchakale. Five people were killed and 11 injured. In response to the incident, the Turkish Parliament provided the government with a one year mandate for cross-border military operations on October 4, as well as towards Syria.
