Nearly 300 people have been killed during the dispersal of demonstrations of ousted president Mohamed Morsi's supporters in Cairo, Al-Jazeera channel reported on Wednesday.

On Wednesday the Egyptian army began to disperse the demonstrators. Over 1000 protesters were reported to be wounded since the beginning of the dispersals of demonstrations at Cairo's Rabia Al-Adawiya and Nahda squares.

Military equipment and firearms were used in order to move the demonstrators.

On July 3, Egypt's army ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi, suspended the Constitution and asked the head of the Constitutional Court to perform the duties of the head of state for a transitional period.

Morsi's supporters who disagreed with the army's decision have been conducting daily protests for over a month demanding the return of the president and restoration the Constitution.

The court also extended the decision to arrest Morsi for 15 days as a part of the ongoing investigation. The court accused him of cooperating with Hamas, as well as the escape from prison during the revolution in 2011.
