Collapsed Building not Belonging to Neapol Resort Centre: Manager General

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Anar Nazarov, the General Manager of the Neapol Resort Centre, stated on 16 August that the construction facility on the Baku-Sumgayit road does not belong to his company.

Nazarov said that Neapol belongs to the Shan Limited Company, while the aforementioned building has nothing in common with Neapol. The Centre was closed for two days due to the incident. "The information spread by the press caused damage to the Centre," the General Manager added.

Two workers, Rafik Mammadov 43, and Rauf Abdullayev 43, were trapped under the collapse building after the incident that occurred on 14 August.

Rescue workers managed to save one worker, Rasim Mammadov.

A criminal case has been filed in accordance with Article 222.2(violating security rules causing death) of the Criminal Code in the Absheron Region Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan. Aliyev Shamil Mahmudoglu is being detained as a suspect.

According to Tofik Agajanov, the assistant of the Absheron Region Prosecutor's Office, the evidence against Aliyeva will be submitted to the Absheron Region Court on 17 August.
