Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Fazil Aliyev, the chairman of the International Georgian Azerbaijanis Counsel (IGAC), will nominate his candidature for the presidential post during the upcoming presidential elections in Georgia.
The National Georgian Azerbaijanis Assembly (NGAA) and IGAC will nominate Aliyev's candidature during the presidential elections, Dashgin Gulmammadov, the NGAA's president, said to Trend news agency on 16 November.
"Aliyev will be the candidate from Azerbaijani and Muslim electorate of Georgia," Gulmammadov said.
According to Gulmammadov, an initiative group has been established and Aliyev will lead the group. Azerbaijanis will vote for their candidate. The documents confirming Aliyev's candidature for the presidential post will be submitted to the Georgian Central Election Commission in the near future.
