Israel should Go for Dialogue with Hamas for Peace in Middle East: Expert

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend R.Hafizoglu / In order to regain peace in the Middle East, Israel should go for the dialogue with Hamas, the Young Islamic Resistance Movement, along with Fatah. "The encroachment of the Palestinian territory is the major reason for the crisis in the Middle East. The problem can be resolved, if the Israel stops occupation and set up the dialogue with the Hamas", stated Ahmed Varol, a Turkish researcher for the Middle East.

Abu Zuhri, the spokesman for the Hamas, stated that his organization is prepared for the dialogues with the United States and the European countries, whilst Israel, the United States and the European countries did not go for the dialogue with Hamas. The Hamas was not invited at the international meetings in Annapolis and Paris, as an official side.

The non-recognition of the Hamas as a side, means to throw underfoot on the choice of the people of Palestine, Varol stated in an e-mail interview from Istanbul. Israel inevitably regards with disrespect, the choice of the people of Palestine. "If Israel sincerely wishes the peace, even if not exchanging the dialogues with the Hamas, it should at least lift the economic embargo against the Palestine and destroy the so-called 'Separation Wall'", the expert stated.

According to Varol, Mahmoud Abbas's wish to place the international peacekeepers in Palestine, is the demonstration of distrust towards Israel. The dialogue is impossible. In order to make it possible, Israel should leave the territory of Palestine occupied since 1967, despite of all the agreement and resolutions achieved in this respect. Varol stated that Israel's refusal for the dialogue with the Hamas, will lead the region to a new crisis and it is important to hold the dialogue with this movement.
