Azerbaijan, Baku 15 January /corr. Trend I.Alizade / As a result of a survey held by the Union of Parliamentary Journalists of Azerbaijan, the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP from Baku's district of Azizbayov, Mehriban Aliyeva, was described as an MP actively protecting the rights of the electors in 2007, said the Chairman of the Union, Elshad Eyvazli, at the press conference as a result of the survey on 15 January.
According to him, the survey was held amongst 50 journalists accredited in the Parliament. The survey was aimed at determining the MP of the year for actively protecting the rights of the electors and the position of Azerbaijan within international organizations.
As a result of the survey, ten parliamentarians were determined, who actively protected the rights of the electors. They include Mehriban Aliyeva, Jamil Hasanli, Ganira Pashayeva, Novruzali Aslanov, Elmira Akhundova, Arzu Samedbeyli, Iltizam Akberli, Javid Gurbanov, Sabir Rustamkhanli and Ikram Israfli.
Bahar Muradova, Eldar Ibrahimov, Rafael Huseynov, Samad Seyidov and Gultekin Hajiyeva were described as MPs who were actively protecting Azerbaijan's position in the international organizations. Ten active MPs of the year were selected which included Hadi Rajabli, Siyavush Novruzov, Aydin Mirzazade, Panah Huseyn and others.
In addition, as a result of the survey, five passive MPs were announced, Madar Musayev, Magsud Ibrahimbeyov, Mejid Kerimov, Mikhail Zabelin and Sabir Hajiyev.
Azerbaijan Parliament brings together 125 MPs.
