Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 march / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / The salary of officials of the Account Chamber at the Azerbaijani Parliament will be increased. "Account Chamber officials' salary is quite low. The salary of these officials must be raised in order to increase the efficiency of their activity," Heydar Asadov, the Account Chamber chairman, said during the meeting of the Standing Parliament Commission on Economy Policy on 18 March.
The participants discussed changes in the Bill on 'Account Chamber'. Asadov said that the salaries of Account Chamber are not even equal with that of the salaries of MPs, officials of President Administration and Cabinet of Ministers.
"The changes into the Bill will provide rise in the salary of Account Chamber officials, same as that of the MPs," Chamber chairman said.
Under the changes, the chairman of Chamber will receive salary equal to that Speaker, deputy Chamber chairman will receive salary equal to the deputy Speaker, Chamber auditors -chairmen of standing Parliamentary commissions, and chamber officials' salaries will be same as that of officials of Parliament Apparatus.
According to him, Account Chamber developed about 80 tabular forms to control expenditures allocated by the State Budget. Chamber submits this tabular to State departments. But, in most of the cases, State departments did not return back the tabular. After the changes into the Bill, State department will have to return back the document within a month.
Other changes envisages establishment of Account Chamber in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan.
Commission has approved of the changes, and recommended that these should be submitted to the Parliament for consideration.
