Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 July / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / Vilayat Eyvazov, the Deputy Internal Minister, said in the collective meeting dedicated to the operational and investigation measures in district police services, that the measures to struggle against different crimes committed in the country was weak.
Eyvazov said that about 21,700 criminal groups have been revealed and neutralized in the country for last 14 years.
About 37,000 illegally obtained guns were also seized. The number of crimes committed with guns decreased eight times, and the number of calculated homicide, robbery and other grave crimes decreased three times. About 90.4% crimes have been revealed within six months.
Some 174 crimes, committed in 2007, were revealed as a result of the cooperation with Prosecutor Departments in 2008.
Some 138 people committed different grave crimes have been neutralized.
Totally sixty- four out of 1,530 searched men were arrested in different countries including the United States.
The place of 31 searched men by the Central National Bureau in Azerbaijan and 16 searched men by members of the Interpol have been revealed.
