Uzbekistan, Tashkent, 22 August/ Trend , corr T. Zhukov/ An earthquake took place in Uzbekistan on 22 August at 01:26 local time. The epicenter of earthquake located 18km north-west of Tashkent near Nazarbek settlement, Toshkent seismological center said to Trend .
"The earthquake had a magnitude of 6 on 12-magnituede scale and 5 on the Richter scale," Ulfat Nurmatov, head of Seismic Tectonics Laboratory of Seismology Institute of Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan said to Trend .
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan said the earthquake has not left victim and destructions. Moreover, the capital city was deprived of mobile communication for more than two hours for still unknown reasons.
