Georgia, Tbilisi, 29 August / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Poti Port suffered damaged worth $2mln as a result of the Russian aggression. At present, the port uses only by 35% of its capacity, the port said.
The damage caused by air bombing on 8 August has been estimated as well. Technology and property suffered damaged worth $279,000 and loss of the port's leaseholders amounted to $100,000.
The loss of Chenel Enerji, the Turkish and Georgian oil company made up $1,100,000. Splinters of bomb damaged its reservoir.
The port intends to apply to the international court and demand from Russia to compensate the damage.
At the night of 8 August, large-scale military operations were launched in the self-declared South Ossetia republic. The Georgian troops entered Tskhinvali. Later the Russian troops entered the city and drove the Georgian forces back to the Georgian territory.
On 12 August, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced that he has decided to end operations to compel Georgia to peace.
