Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 October/ Trend , corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan said investigation into the act of terrorism committed in Abu Bakr mosque in Baku still continues.
"A total of 25 members of Forest Brothers organization who was part of blast in Abu Bakr mosque in Baku, have been arrested," Zakir Qaralov, Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan said.
In the evening of 17 August, unknown man broke Mosque's window with stone and threw RGD-1 grenades into the Mosque. The blast killed two and injured eleven.
A case has been filed into willful murder by dangerous means (120.2.4), murdering two or more people deliberately, (120.2.7), illegal storing and selling ammunition and explosives (228).
Members of illegal Forest Brothers organization have been detained as a result of the counter terrorism operations in Gusar region of Azerbaijan.
On 6 September, Telman Abdullayev, one of the members of the organization, was reported to be in a forest located between Avaran and Khurel villages of Gusar region.
The other suspects turned out to be hiding in Rasim Asadullayev's apartment in Gusar city.
Operations were launched in northern region of Azerbaijan to detain members of illegal Forest Brothers organization recently.
The Ministry of National Security has carried out a special operation to prevent these criminal intentions. As a result of urgent measures, 13 people were arrested and made criminally responsible. Many fire-arms, military supplies, explosive materials, various maps etc. belonging to them have been revealed and withdrawn. Ilgar Mollachiyev, one of the leaders of the grouping, has been killed by the law enforcement agencies of Russia.
Operations are still going on in Gusar region near the Russian border to arrest other members of the illegal organization. Elnur Bakhshiyev of Sumgayit city, also charged with committing blast in a mosque, has been arrested. Majority of the members of the organization have been arrested, Garalov said. He said the wanted members of the organization may not further commit crimes.
Concerning restoring activity of the mosque, Prosecutor General said neither Prosecutor's Office, nor other law enforcement agencies deal with closure of the mosque. "Mosque should appeal State Committee for Work with Religious Associations for this purpose,"
