Off-Year Parliamentary Election Starts in Tbilisi

Georgia, Tbilisi, 3 November/ Trend , corr N. Kirtskhalia/ The off-year parliamentary elections started in Georgia at 8a.m. on 3 November. Only representatives of opposition parties will contest for 2 mandates in the election as the ruling party refused to take part.

These two mandates became vacant after representatives of the United Opposition who won parliamentary election in Vake and Didub, refused to sit at the parliament as a sign of a protest claiming that the results of the election was falsified.

Representatives of Kartuli Dasi Party Natiya Mikiashvili, Guram Chakhvadze from National Democratic Party of Georgia, Jemal Natelashvili from Union of Radical Democratic National Party and Jumber Kirvalidze, from the Georgian policy Union will contest for these two mandates.

Three candidates will contest for mandates in Vake region including Tamaz Kvanchantiradze from Christian-Democratic Movement, Levan Astaniani from We Ourselves and Kakha Koridze from Kartuli Dasi.

The polls will close at 08:00p.m.
