10 People Hung in Iran

Iran, Tehran, November 26/ Trend , corr A. Namdari/ Ministry of Justice of Iran has announced that 10 people have been hung. Ministry said nine male and one female convict have been hung in Evin prison of Tehran on November 26.

The identity of the hung men remains unclear while the woman's name is Fatima Haqiqat Pajuh who is charged with killing his husband with whom she had a temporary marriage contract.

The other hanged people are charged with drug smuggling, murder and kidnapping.

As many as 216 people were hung in Iran in 2008. Iran's human rights activists, UN and Amnesty International have demanded Iran to stop hanging. Human activists say number of executions in Iran is much more than official statistics.
