Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 23 / Trend , N. Kirtskhalia / Michael Machavariani, vice speaker of Georgian Parliament, regarded the information, spread in the Russian media, on resuming diplomatic relations between Moscow and Tbilisi as a non-pragmatic, totally obscure and politically hasty step.

"Russia has already opened its embassies in the Georgian territories of Abkhazia and Tsinvali. In such situation, it is inadmissible to rehabilitate functional embassies of Russia in Tbilisi," Machavariani said at the special session on Dec. 23. Majority of Georgian MPs also exclude the possibility to resume diplomatic relations with Russia.

Kommersant, Russian newspaper, spread reports on searching certain ways to rehabilitate diplomatic relations between Georgia and Russia. The article says that the official Tbilisi seeks to rehabilitate relations with Moscow with the help of mediators. According to Koba Khabazi, member of Parliamentary committee on international relations, the rehabilitation of diplomatic relations with Russia is groundless as Tbilisi calls all countries of the world to cut all relations with Russia in order to put pressure on this country. Moreover, Georgia should know that Russia cuts all kinds of relations with other countries which will put Georgian territorial integrity into suspicion, the MP said.
