Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, Feb. 14/ Trend , A. Tanayev/ The Social Democratic Faction of the Kyrgyz parliament is oppositional and the observers expect it to display an alternative reaction on denouncement of the agreement on deployment of the air base signed with the United States unlike factions of the pro-Presidential Ak-Zhol party and Communists.

The Social Democrats planned to discuss the Cabinet of Minister's decree on withdrawal of the U.S. contingent on Feb. 11. The meeting did not take place as the Foreign Minister Kadirbek Sarbayev, who was to introduce MPs a bill together with head of the Presidential Administration Foreign Policy Department Temirbek Sultanbayov, was attending a governmental meeting.

"Kadirbek Sarbayev was represented by his deputy. The first person responsible for the foreign policy President and second person responsible is foreign minister. We have enough experience. We you speak to the deputy ministers, they avoid sharp questions in a diplomatic manner saying that they must coordinate it with the minister," said Social Democratic Faction head Bakit Beshimov while explaining why they did not listen to the deputy minister.

Beshimov said this issue is very important for the Social Democrats. "We want to examine it comprehensively. Because Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy is the main point. Such steps determine country's foreign policy tens years into the future," he said.

Deputy head of the Social Democratic Faction Isa Omurkulov also confirmed that his faction has its own opinion on this issue.

"I think it is not beneficial for Kyrgyzstan to focus on only one country which is Russia in this case. If we close the base, we will undermine relations with Americans. This is not good from the geopolitical viewpoint. I do not know how factions will vote for the air base. They can abstain. This is exactly what I will do," Omurkulov said.
