Georgian Parliament puts part of responsibility on international community for escalation of country’s situation

Georgian legislative agency puts responsibility on the international community for constant threat of conflict in the country. The commission condemns terror act in Dvani village of Karel region killed 1 and wounded six policemen in Georgia, Chairman of Parliamentary Commission on Territorial Integrity Issues

Shota Malashkhia said at the meeting of the Parliament's bureau on March 30.

The commission will send the statement on this regard to the international community. The statement said that responsibility for all such facts is laid on Russia as in fact it controls these territories. The Kremlin hampers to launch those mechanisms agreed at the last meeting in Geneva format. On March 29, OSCE special representative in Georgia also made a statement regarding Dvani incident about necessity of launching this mechanism. Georgian authorities and the international organizations are obliged to take real actions to stop this unpunished violence.

The commission hopes that the international community - UN, EU, OSCE, Council of Europe will strengthen their work on this regard. Otherwise, there is always threat of new conflict for which part of responsibility is laid on occupants together with the international organizations proceeding from taken international obligations.
